direct: Fastest processing with the
best rates
Changes
in marital status or loss of wage earner
can affect your loan direct, so contact
your financial aid councilor before it
affects your loan direct. We'll discuss
this more below.
US
news gives a look at the financial aid
process that draws much of its content
from the viewpoint of the financial aid
administrator, with many FAAs quoted in
the article. While there is advice to
students and parents on how to maximize
aid, the magazine takes a more sober look
at the strengths and weaknesses of the aid
process than many such articles. It's a
publication worth looking at when
considering a loan direct.
After
your FAFSA is processed, your school will
review the results and will inform you of
your loan eligibility. You must then
complete the promissory note provided by
your school or the loan direct servicing
center. Remember, the promissory note is a
legal document requiring you to repay the
loan. Read it carefully before you sign.
Change
in your family circumstances can affect
your loan direct. If any of the
following circumstances apply to you or
your family, check with your financial aid
adviser immediately to see if this might
affect your loan direct application.
Divorce of parents, or you from your
spouse, death of a major wage earner, loss
of employment of a major wage earner and
loss of other income or benefits such as
social security or child support, by you,
your parents or spouse.
